Cellulite

Clusters of subcutaneous fat that distorts the surface of certain parts of the body, esthetic cellulite concerns many women. In fact 90% of them are subject to cellulite, but what is it? And where does it come from?

This phenomenon is caused by a development of fat cells that accumulate on parts of the female body. The lipogenese (fat storage) is usually found on the legs, stomach, buttocks and hips. The formation of tiny  balls leads to a deformation of the skin (especially fine on women), often referred to as "orange peel".

Causes

This problem is primarily hormonal, hormones control the accumulation of fat and may also allow water retention and some swelling. Cellulite is also caused by a congestion of toxins and water in the adipose tissue. In other words, the accumulation of fat hinders the circulation (elimination) of toxins and fluids, which leads to a distortion of the skin.

The nature of this fat is also at issue, as it is in most of the time gynoid type (secondary sexual character of women). The proportion of gynoid fats varies from one woman to another, depending on their ethnic origin or hereditary factors.

Poor diet and lack of exercise also promote cellulite. The consumption of foods high in fat and salt (water retention) is an aggravating factor. A variation of weight often affects the elasticity of the skin and makes it more sensitive (which promotes the orange peel phenomenon). Lack of exercise contributes to slow down the lymphatic circulation to eliminate waste (liquid and toxins).

Information and advice

Of course, a healthy and balanced diet is to be promoted. All food calories are to be consumed with moderation. The use of salt should be reduced. We must be especially rigorous in the and weight loss and gain, because any deviation will affect the elasticity of the skin and reveal the balls of fat.

  • Physical activity is essential for the elimination of toxins.
  • Stress is to be avoided because it causes water retention.
  • Drinking plenty of water improves the elimination of toxins.
